Have you registered for NEMO’s New Media, Modern Democracy launch conference on October 5? If not, hurry up!
We have brought together some great speakers plus workshops that will make you think, and change the way you work.0
The opening keynote by one of Europe’s leading online communications experts, Neville Hobson will explore the latest developments in this fast-changing environments.
Our second keynote comes from Remco Vroom, a pioneer of Augmented Reality applications that are adding a new dimension to online storytelling.
Together Neville and Remco will map out the challenging new fields that we are calling 3D PR.
NEMO is bringing together the latest academic thinking in ways that can direct help organisations in Skåne and beyond, and several of our researchers will explain their latest work in presentations throughout the conference.
Under Neville’s guidance, workshop sessions will explore the challenges Wikipedia brings for communicators. If someone Googles for information on an organisation, the chances are that Wikipedia will be right at the top of the list – possibly even higher than the official website.
But what should a communicator do if the information on Wikipedia is damaging or plain wrong? PRs believe they are charged with maintaining and enhancing the reputations of their clients but the Wikipedia community is fiercely opposed to PRs changing entries.
The UK’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations has taken a leading role in debate with Wikipedia over this controversial area, and NEMO workshop will help delegates understand the latest positions, and show ways to avoid making mistakes that could be very damaging to client organisations.
